F1 Brake Pedal

Structural Analysis assignment on an F1 brake pedal.
During my Structural Analysis class, I was part of a group who designed and analyzed a brake pedal for an F1 vehicle using Solidworks CAD and Altair Hypermesh.
This project concluded with our group presenting a design for a 230g Magnesium brake pedal, capable of withstanding a maximum of 3000N of force over 12 races, with a stiffness of 390 N/mm.
For this project we started with a design volume and ran topology optimization simulations, analyzed the load path and structural response, investigated a variety of materials for feasibility and did fatigue calculations and simulations.
