During the Summer of 2022, I joined the SELTTI team as an Undergraduate Researcher
I joined the Lunar tower team, working with the Deployable Boom Lunar Tower who are designing, building and testing an extendable composite tower for Lunar application. This is a multi-year collaboration project with NASA Langley Research Center and has the potential to be deployed on the moon.
I designed and manufactured a second-generation guy wire stabilization arm sub-system that improved control by over 41% in boom deflection while reducing the actuator count from three to one.
I also integrated the design concept of this sub-system into a deployer payload provided by NASA, testing it as a prototype for a potential 2026 lunar payload.
Additionally, I co-authored a research paper published by IEEE titled "Design Development of a Stable, Lightweight, Tall and Self-Deploying Lunar Tower," which included the design of the second-generation guy wire arms.
